Duck Jar worked with documentary filmmaker Craig Mahaffy to visualize some of Densmore's stories through limited animation with a striking woodblock style. Guided by Densmore's narration, Duck Jar's artwork takes the viewer through his memories of fishing around Kodiak island, being cast adrift after losing a king crab boat in the Bering Sea, and the pain of losing loved ones to the sea throughout his life.
Densmore is an active member of the FisherPoets Gathering in Astoria, OR, and with his writing he articulates his profound love and respect for the sea as well as both the burdens and the pride to be found in life as a fisherman. This documentary pre-screened at the FisherPoets Gathering 2026 and will continue its festival run through the year.
